Production and exhibition art residencies in Barcelona
Located inside Ha.aH art space in Barcelona, our residency programs offer artists an immersive experience in their work and research.
Our programs aim to enhance the visibility of emerging contemporary artists.
To achieve this, we present monthly open calls for production and exhibition residency programs. Selected artists will have the chance to develop and present their projects to the local audiences with the guidance and support of our residency staff and associates.

Barcelona is Our Context
We are a vibrant hub nestled in the heart of Barcelona’s Old Town, close to the art nouveau marvel, Palau de la Musica Catalana. Our 350m² venue offers a blend of workspace and exhibition area, creating the ideal environment for creativity and innovation.
We actively collaborate with a vibrant network of local artists and art spaces, organizing monthly events and collective art projects to foster meaningful connections. Our mission is to inspire creativity and foster innovation, providing a space to create, collaborate, and showcase art.
In this dynamic setting, Ha.aH will open its doors to offer a distinctive cultural experience, inviting international visitors to explore spaces and creators of our city.
Each program will involve practice, essay, production and research, culminating in a collective exhibition.
We offer two types of programs:
The full program lasting one month that includes project production and development, one-and-one curatorial coach, portfolio review with local advisors and exhibition.
The cost of the program is €1000 + VAT
The half program lasts two weeks that includes curatorial and production advisor and the exhibition.
The cost of the program is €500 + VAT

Ha.aH space for artistic creation
Proposed Residency Activities:
- Development and production of the proposed project.
- Community meetings: artist talks, and screenings.
- Participation in Ha.aH’s events: workshops, talks, and seminars.
- Visits to local artist studios, galleries, and museums.

The space:
– Exhibition space with video projection capability (180 m2).
– Joint workspace with tables, chairs and tools (50 m2).
– Kitchen, bathrooms, framing and art storage areas.
– Meeting room with private area (20m2).
All work and exhibition spaces are within the Ha.aH main space in Ciutat Vella.

Eligibility:
Up to eight local and international artists will be selected to participate in the program. Individual artists or groups may apply. Applicants must be over eighteen years old and able to present a body of work representative of at least two years of work in any contemporary art discipline (visual arts, performance, writing, poetry, music, sound art, installations, etc).
Our residents have the opportunity to work and participate in a range of activities such as talks, meetings and studio visits.
Participants are encouraged to collaborate with local art professionals, propose talks and workshops, and learn about the sociocultural scenario in Barcelona.
Proposals for new projects and works in progress will be considered equally.
